Bucklank and Son's' Weekly Kni'our. — During tho t>ast week loose hay has kept its value : prices have ranged from 2s to os !U tho cwt ; chaff, E'4 the ton ; maize, 2s Sd ; barley, 2s 9d ; wheat, 3s to 3 s 3d ; oats, 2s 10:1 to 3s Id the bushel ; potatoes, £3 15s to £4 10s ; bonedust, Eli 10s to £7 7s lid tho ton. On Friday, unbroken draught horses brought ft»ui £8 "w to £10 each ; tho entire Trafalgar, £20 ; medium draught, .Eli ti £S each. At the hide and skin sale, on Tuesday, calfskins ranged from 3.jd to 4§d ; ox hides, 3d to 4gd ; cow hides, 2d to 2M the lb ; bones, 4s Gd ; tallow, lGs 9d to 17s Od the cwt ; butchers' sheep skins, 4s to lis 3d ; lambs', 7d to lOd each. Country cattlo sales held respectively atl'okeno and Drury were better supplied with young store cattle than of late, and there was a steady demand obtained, but with no improvement in values. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were dull of sale. Cows at calving ranged from £2 to £4. For the store cattle bidding was slow, but late values were fairly sustained. Threo to four-year-old steers ranged from £2 15s to J23 17s (id ; two to three-year-old steers, £2 5s to £2 10s ; weaned calves, 15s ; speyed cows, 3Gs, to 455. Fat cattle better worth ; no steers of good quality under ISs the 1001b. Fat calves plentiful, but sold well. Fat sheep short of requirements, and advanced ,',d the lb, fat sheep being steady at 3Ad tho" lb. Well-fatted lambs brought fnnn 11a to 13s ; inferior, 4s to 7s each. Pigs were of good quality, and shared in the general advance in prices. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Weekly RioroKT.— Grain, seeds, horse feed, &c., have been brought forward in sufficient quantities for requirements. There has been a slightly upward tendency in the value of oats, but other lines were unmoved. We quote: Oats, os to 3s 3d ; maize, 2s 8d to 2s lOd per bushel; bran, £4 10s per ton ; pressed hay, from £2 10s to £3 10s per ton. Horses : An average number were brought forward, and found purchasers, but the demand was_ not spirited. The number entered for disposal at the Durham Yards on Friday was scarcely so large as usual, and except for a few lots, bidding was not brisk, but most of them changed hands. We quoto : Hacks, from £5 to £12 ; light harness horses, £G 53 to £13; medium draught, £lj to £14 10s. Wool, hides, skins. &c. : About the usual quantities were pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday. There was a spirited demand, and an upward tendency in values for good heavy hides. We quote : Ox, 3d to 4.J.d per lb ; cow, lid to 2;ld ; sheepskins, from 2s Id to (is 4d each. Cattle : Increased numbers have been brought forward, and except for dairy stock, the demand has been brisk at a slight advance on the previous week's values. There was a large muster at Newmarket on Tuesday. Competition was better for dairy stock than in the previous week, but prices were still in favour of tho purchaser. Lhit a limited number of stores woro yarded, sellers holding back for the special store sale on Monday. More fat beasts would have found purchasers at prices in advance of tho previous week at per 1001b. Some averages of fat steers were : £7 15s, £7 7s (id, £7 os, £6 17s (id, EG Ss, £0 7s (id, £G (is 3d. £5 12s (id. £5 7s lid. Cows : £4 17s (id, £4 ss, £3 15s, £3 7s (id. Sheep : Not quite so many as usual were penned at Newmarket on Tuesday. Competition was keen, and 2s per Sib was given. Wethers sold at from 13s !)d to 17s ; ewes, 12s !)d to 14s Gd. Lambs were plentiful, and sold at from Ss to lis !)d each. Figs: An average number yarded, and varied from 2d to 3d per lb live weight, according to quality.
