Bacon and hams have been in shorter supply ; good lots are inquired for. Cheese : The market is very bare, and that to hand has fetched high prices. Honey is still slow of sale. In tho fruit, depariment. the supplies have been shorter ; 113 cases of local apples sold at prices ab ive those of hist week. Potatoes have been in [food demand at former values, but s';oeks are. now particularly light. Onions have been all cleared out at late values. Vegetables generally in good supply, at satisfactory prices. Grain has come forward in small quantities; values unchanged, excepting maize, which is somewhat firmer. butter has cmm to hand in increased quantity; values unchanged. Egss : Large supply at previous values. Poultry : The supply was slightly below the average. Prices were higher for goood birds. Pigs were entered in large numbors, and choice lots sold at high prices. A largo number of canaries and other cage birds were sold at prices in favour of vendors. Fowls: Poor, Is Id to Is 3d ; good ordinary, Is <kl_ to Is ltd; roosters, in good condition," Is Sri to 3s 2d; poor, Is 3d to Is (id ; purebred varieties of fowls, 3s to 12s each ; clucks, Is lid to 3d each ; turkeys, young, 2s 3d; heavy, to lis lid each ; canaries, 3s (id to Ss ; ,joesc, -Is to -Is !)d ; pigs, young, good breeds, 10s to 15s (id ; others', 2s 9d to 0s G(l each.
