POLICE COURT, HAMILTON.
Monday.—(Before J. Knox, Esq., J.P.) Wai.ti'R Geougk was charged by Constable Murray with having been drunk in Grey-street on the 7th instant. He was out on bail since Sunday, and called on the presiding Justice this morning, begging to be leniently dealt with. When sentencing the prisoner, His Worship reminded him of the fact, and cautioned him against such conduct for the future. He was fined 10s and cost 2s, or in default 48 hours' imprisonment, the fine was paid. William McCoy charged with having no lawful means of support. Accused pleaded guilty. He was further charged with being unlawfully on premises, Constable Murray stated that he bad found the prisoner in an empty house in Hamilton E ist. Sentenced to ono month's imprisonment in Mount Eden gaol with hard labour on each offence, the sentences to run concurrently.
