(BY TKLEGIUrH.—own correspondent). Auckland, Wednesday. 1). B. Orchard appealed at the Police Court, in answer to seven charges of forgery of promissory notes. He reserved his defence, and was committed for trial, bail being allowed, himself £500, and two sureties of £250 each. Mr John Graham, formerly relieving officer, died suddenly this morning. He had been suffering from heart disease, but was not laid up, having taken tea at a friend's house last night. The thoroughbred Forest King was offered for sale at Buckland's, to-day, but failed to find a purchaser.
