NANCE'S GARDEN.

Wβ never had our garden, dear ; But, when you lay me low, They'll give us a few feet of earth, And there the flowers can prow ; And you will como to .see them When harder work is done, By gleam of early shining stars Or crimson set of suu. Then get the sweet green southern wood At corners four to set, And let the air grow fragrant round Wi*h bee-loved miongnette; And plant one bush of "rabbits mouth I played with long ngo, And find a place for violets— I always lov'd them so ! Thon, up the church path as you pass You'll see my grave in view, And all the flowers will laugh and nod As once I used to do. But you must gather the most sweet, And wear it in your coat; While I shall heur the Church choir sing, And hear the organ's note. For, though the choirs of angels chant So wondroiisly and grand, I'd rather listen to the hymns Which we sing hand in hand ; Ay, rather hear our parson preach, Though often, when I tried To mark his sermons, still I watched The building rooks outside. You promise, dear ? The sun U low, The shadows stretching long. Hark ! I can hear the rooks fly home; **The evenin* breeze grows strong. I smell the flow'rs ; the crescent moon Gleams palely ; I forget— What did you say of pansies, dear ? Mists rise—the sun has set.
