ASSAULT BY CHINAMEN.
(MY TKI.EftBAriC —PRKSS ASSOCIATION.) WiauxcTox, Friday. A NUMUKR of Chinamen residing in Cuba-.-l-rcot, made a savaßO assault last night on sin exprcssinun named Samuel Elliott. It iinpasirs Elliott went to the shop of Wong She for onions, and being suspicions of not nxmviiijf full weight insisted on some m;ire bi'.inif pUiced in the scales. Elliott repeated his df nmiid, as Wong She still refused, and he commenced t> helu himself. This action started tins row, and three othor Chinamen in the slm*, seizing broom-handles, went t<i tho !is=ist:i>ico of Wong She, and belabored 10!' i pit over tho boad and shoulder.--. Elliott escaped into tho street, but ti..t; before he had received several severe so ill) wounds, from which blood flowed froiily. A Uirsjß crowd collected round the shop, and the windows were broken by st'imv. Ultimately the police cleared the llioroiighfiirc. Tho Chinamen will be prococded afiiiinst.
