Bucklakp and Sons' Wekkt.y Ii,KPOHT.—At the Haymarket, during tlio past week, fodder was belter worth, and brought from 3s to Is the cwt; carrots, 30s; chaff, Gss to SOs tho ton ; maize (wholesale) 2s (Id and 2s 10d, (retail) os ; oats, 2s fid to 3s -Id the bushel, Bonedust is being sold in quantity, prices varying with quality from £5 to £7 15s the ton. On Friday last, strong horses were in demand, and butter prices obtained for them ; prices ranged from £8 to £15; medium draught, £1 to £(>; a spring cart, £10 ; light wnggon, £20 ; Kaddle, £2 10a. At the hide and wool sale, on Tuesday, prices both for hides and •kins were firm at last week's quotations. The country cattle sales, held respectively at Pokeno and Drury, were better supplied with steers than for several markets ; they were requited, and thelato advanco in price of store cuttle was sustained. At Reniuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle, in moderate number, brought from £3 10s to £4 os each ; stores in request; fat cattle, in usual number, kopt last week's values ; cows from 12.s to "Rs ; steers, 15s to 17s the 1001b; tat calves, scarce, sold well. Sheep, without alteration in price, were at 3d the lb; fat wethers brought from 13s to 10s (id each ; store sheep, mixed sexes, from 3s to 11s. Pigs in good inquiry at full values. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Wekklv Report.—Grain, horse feed, seeds, &c, : There has been but little animation in the market, and sales have been restricted. We quote : Oats, 3s to 3s 3d per bushel ; maize, o3 ; bran, £5 to £'5 10s per ton. Horses; A good many have been brought forward, and found purchasers at an advance, which was most noticeable in those of a good stamp. An increased number was submitted by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday. Bidding was spirited throughout, and very few remained in original hands. We quote : Hacks, from £1 5s to £10 10-; light harness horses, from £D 10d to £11 15s; medium draught, £7 17s (id to £10. Wool, hides and skins : There has been some stir iu the market, and heavy ox hides advanced in value. We quote : Ox hides, from 2.Vd to -Hd per lb ; cow, 2d to 2Jd ; calfskins, 3d to lid per lb; sheepskins, butcherV, 4s 5d to (Is *ld each ; country, Is lid to Os 4d each ; tallow, 12s to IDs b'd per cwt. Cattle: A steady demand has existed, and a moderate supply was brought forward, resulting in good sale of fat and store stock, but purchasers of dairies sought to obtain them at lower figures, and vendors were unwilling to .submit, consequently some lots were withdrawn. An average number were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday. Bidding was slow for dairy stock, but brisk for fat beasts and stores. Some averages of fat steers were, £7 ss, i'li 5s lid, £C 3s, £5, £5 .12s (111 ; cows, £■! 10s, £•! 3s !)d, £3 ]"».•». £3 2s (id. SYDNEY MARKETS. Tun Nkw Zkaland Loan and MkroanTit.K Agkni.'v hki'OUT, under date, Sydney 32 August.—Wheat (free): A fair demand for milling purposes hns continued to be ex. perienced, but no large transactions have taken place. Tuscan moves off slowly at from -Is to -Is 3d according to quality, while for some specially prime samples, we have obtained up to 4s -lid on rail.—Oats (free) : No improvement can be reported in the oat market as regards feed descriptions, but seed oats, owing to a better demand for the moment springing up, and the market being almost bare of supplies, have improved considerably, and for really priir.e samples 3s 0d is at present obtainable. Butter (duty Id per lb): Local factory butter again shews an improvement, to-day's quotation standing at Is od. New Zealand Separator at above Is Id, nor do we look for any higher values at present in imported butter. The market for inferior qualities shows no improvement whatever. —Cheese (duty 2d per lb) : continues in plentiful supply, and we again quote 7d as a full figure for prime New Zealand.
