THE MAYBRICK CASE,
(BY HI.KCTIIie THI.KUKAI'H.—COPYUICSHT.) London*, August 15, Mil Matthews refused to receive a deputation of members of the House of Commons on the Maybrick case. An excited meeting was held in London in favor of a reprieve. Mr Matthews, will consider the petitions in favour of Mrs Maybrick before a final decision is arrived at. The petitions have been signed by a quarter of a million of people. The Lancet, considers the verdict was justified by the evidence. Mrs Maybrick has received plenty of oilers of marriage, besides these, one infatuated admirer has carried his folly so far as to oiler himself as a substitute on the scaffold.
