Mr N. T. Maunder has been appointed collector of rates for the Waipa County Council, and all rates must be paid to him before the 10th prox. Mr Geo. Mason, of the Clandelands Nursery, having presented a quantity of trees to the Mat-unata School committee for planting in the school grounds, the committee thank him for same through our columns. Through the inclemency of the weather on Saturday last, the sale of trees, &e., at the Clandelands Nursery was but poorly attended, and in consequence Messrs Knox and Ridler advertise another sile for Wednesday, August 28th. Twelve years ago, when we tried to introduce Van Houten's coca in the Auckland market, people found the price too high, but now hardly any other cocoa is selling, for Hie public found out it is the purest and withal the cheapest. We prophesy that our Colombo Garden Ceylon Tea will be the Van Hwutens amongst all other teas, as it is a first-class and economical beverage. — BIIOW.V, BaURKTT, Ik. Co.
