Jirierley, whose hipropi-r intimacy with Mrs May brick was lii-ought forward ns lier motive for poisoning her husband, denies the statement. He has made an affidavit that he expended ,£4-000 in defending her during the. trial.
After giving careful attention to the case, the Executive has arrived at the. conclusion that they would not be justified in granting a reprieve. The execution is fixed to take, place on the 27th inst.
