Mr Valentino thought the Bill did not go far eno'igh, but would support it. After further discussion the second reading w.-.s agreed to on the vi-ices. MY Fergus moved the second reading of the Shipping and Seamen's Act Amendment Bill, providing for the application of the Act of I&S7 to all vessels in inland navigable rivets, and also for a new scale of fee.i for the survey of steamships. Agreed to. Fire and Marine Insurance Company s liill in committee. Sir J. Hall moved a new clause that any local company hereafter incorporated under the Company's Act, ISS2, for the purpose of issuing only the property of its own shareholder may be registered as a limited liability company, if it possesses a paid up capital of £25,000. After a lengthy discussion the clause was read a second time by 50 to 11. Several provisos were agreed to and the clause as an amendment was added to the Bill.
