I (liv TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. Auckland, Friday. At tho Police Court, a young man named W. E. Bannister employed in tho Post Office Money Order Savings Bank was charged that he did at Wellington two years ago unlawfully issue a Post Office money order for the sum of £10 for the purpose of defrauding the Postmaster General. He was remanded. A meeting of farmers was held in the British Hotel to consider tho question of charging a uniform price for milk supplied in the city. There was a large attendance. Mr Massey, President of the Mangere Farmers' Club moved that tho price of milk be not less than (>d per gallon all the; year round' with the exception of tho four spring months when a discount of 5 per cent, be allowed. After discussion, in which it was generally agreed the price named was a fair one, an amendment proposed by Mr Taylor was carried to the effect that thoso present call a meeting in their respective districts to discuss the matter, and report the results to the Mangare Farmers Club. At the Board of Education meeting today it was resolved to divide the scholarships into four classes, four-tenths of the scholarships to be open to all public schools, two-tenths to schools having an average over 300, two-tenths to schools having an average between 100 and 300 (inclusive), and one tenth to schools of less than 100.
