SAD ACCIDENT AT CAMBRIDGE WEST.

A little boy, aged two years and throo months, met with a painful accident at Cambridge West on Tuesday, which resulted in his death on Thursday. The little fellow's name was Alfred Jarratt, son of Mr Charles Jarratt, and he was playing in a neighbour's garden along with his brother when lie. unfortunately fell into a hole in which hot ashes had been placed. He was quickly extricated, and after being dressed with oil was taken home. The child was badly burnt about the hands and legs, but it was not anticipated that tho injuries would prove fatal ; however, on Thursday morning tho little sufferer succumbed to thorn. The doctor thinks tho shock to the nervous system was more the cause of death than the burns.
