MrS Mayhrick, charged with poisoning her husband, has been found guilty of murder, though the export evident went to prove that death did not ensue from jjoisoi 111114. The verdict of the jui'y caused some sensation and surprise, in Court, and there was some slight hissing. The prismor admitted improper familiarity with A. Brierley, but averred most strenuously that she was innocent. She was sentenced to death, hut it is expected that she will.be reprieved. Sir Charles Russell's fee for defending the accused was £1100. Sir James Fitz-James Stephen, the Judge who sentenced the prisoner, was hooted as he left the Court, and thousands followed the prison van conveying the prisoner.
