LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
(by TELEGRAPH.—PRI'.SS association). WEDNESDAY. The Council met at 2.30. The following were read a first time An Act to validate the Order-in-Council and proceedings subsequent in respect to l.iiiil at Waiapu ; an Act to provide for tho further investigation with respect to lands known as Ngarara, and \Vaipiro; an Act for acquiring tho title to certain lands situate at Heretaunga in Hawke's Bay county, and for making provision for an inalienable reserve for cert till aboriginal natives known ax Ngatlhou who have occupied the Karanu dock ; an Act to enable the Government to grant warrants for certificates of title in certain cases. The Native Meetings .Bill was committed and progress reported to allow amendments to be printed. The Selectors Luv.l Ri-valuation Bill was read a third time and passed. The Animals Protection Act Amendment Bill was read a third time and passed. The Council rose at 3.30 till to-morrow.
