SUDDEN DEATH OF MR PEAT.
A cask of nn-ful s'ldden death took phcß a little after 5 o'clock yesterday evening in Hamilton, and caused a shuck to the whole c.iiui'.m.i'y. Mr It. Mrs Peat came to her husband's side as soon as she received the sad intelligence. The late Mr I'eat, was seventy-three years of age, and had for the last three years been suffering from heart disease, which was the immediate cause of death. "At one time ho took an active part in local affairs and was Mayor of Hamilton in 1873 and was a councillor for several years, lie was a man of quiet habits and generally respected. He leaves a widow and grown up family, for whom much sympathy is felt in their sudden bereavement.
