A LEPER SETTLEMENT IN THE HIMALAYAS.

The death of Father Daruien has drawn attention to leper settlements in various parts of the world, and it is well not to overlook English men and women who, in India and elnewhero, are proving to be ttue friends of the leper. A few days a£o, writes the correspondent of a Manchester paper, "1 met the Kov. Henry Goley, of Altnnra. He says there is a leper settlement near him, in the Himalaya mountains, where there are on an average 107 inmates, in addition to others who, even in their misery, prefer freedom in their village homes to thi more regular comfort provided in the asylum Referring to these lepers, the Rev. J. Hewlett, M.A., who (like Me Coley) libours in connection with the London Missionary Society, Siiys that rLcently he welcomed to Church fellowship 90 of these lepers, who, under God, owed all to the instruction given and the brotherly help shown by another Englishman, the Rev. John Henry Budden. Ido not want to pluck one flower from the grave of the B-lsrian priest on the shores of Molokai, but I think we should n)fc overlook the work which is beiag , done so well by agent-* of the English Free Churches in various paits of the world."
