Notices. ROAD DISTRICT. Notice is hereby given that the Matamata Road Board propose to CLOSE the undermentioned ROADS within the said District 1. All that parrel of land in tlic Auckland Lar.d»Distiiet, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 30 porches, more or less, situated in the Matarnata South Block, .and being a road line 150 links wide, traversing a portion of that Block in the Wairore i Survey District, commencing at ' peg- No. VII. on the southern side of the road leading easterly from the Waharoa Railway Station ; bounded towards the : ; • south., by lilies 2400-3 links and 2215 links respectively ; towards the west by a line 170 links; towards the north by lines 2251 r links and 2385;! links respectively ; and towards the east by a line 154 links to the commencing point; Iv. all the aforesaid • linkages,: more or less* -as the ,sinie is delineated on Map No. 40S0a, deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland. 2. To His Exckllkncy thk Governor of TIIH Colonv OK NEW Zkaland, — The humble petition of the undersigned resident householders of the district of Tu Aroha, in the Provincial District of Auckland and Colony of New Zealand, slieweth : — lht. That your petitioners, resident householders of the District of Te Aroha, in the Provincial District of Auckland and Colony of New Zealand, are desirous of constituting the said District of Te Aroha (the boundaries and area of which are. hereinafter described) a Borough under the provisions of " The Municipal Corporations Act, ISSG," and of the several Acts amending the same, by the name of the "Borough of Te Aroha." 2nd. That the district has outgrown the present form of local government inasmuch as the goldniining industry and population are increasing, and demand immediate attention iu the shape of a water supply, combined with a proper system of drainage, so as to ensure proper sanitation and a means of extinguishing tires. 3rd. That such district comprises one continuous area containing not more than nine square miles, and not having within it any two points more than six miles distant from each other. 4th. That the boundaries and area of the said district proposed to be constituted a Borough are as follows, viz. : Commencing at a point at the Waihou river, being the northern boundary of the Ruakaka Block ; thence along the northern boundary line of the aforesaid Block, a distance of 6,300 links ; thence along the northern boundary line of Section 30 to the north-eastern corner thereof, a distance of 6,800 links ; thence continuing in a straight line easterly, a distance of 10,700 links ; thence by a line 7,570 links running southerly to a point on the northern boundary line of the Recreation reserve ; thence by a line on the aforesaid boundary of the Recreation reserve easterly, 4,175 links, being the north-east peg of the aforesaid Recreation reserve ; thencc by a line being the eastern boundary of the aforesaid reserve, f>,400 links ; thence by a line easterly, 30U0 links, to a point, on the ea&tern side of the Waisrongomai Creek ; thence by lines southerly, 5,400 links and 4,000 links, to a point on Lot 24 of the Thames High School endowment ; thence by a line being the northern boundary of sub-division of Lots 24 and 21 of the aforesaid endowment, 11,350 links to a point on the southern boundary of the aforesaid endowment ; thence by lines on the aforesaid boundary, 1,100 links and 14,400 links, to a point on the western side of the Waihou river; thence following the western bank of the said river to a point opposite the said Ruakaka botindary; thence across the said Waihou liver to the point of commencement, and containing an area of 5,700 acrcs, or thereabout?, statute measure, AB. Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that your Excellency will be pleased, by proclamation, to declare the said district to be a Borough under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act and amendments thereof, and your petitioners will ever pray, &c.
