CAsiimrn«u Wkst Cbm'ktbky. — There was only one tender received for the clearing of'the Cambridge West Cemetery reserve, viz., P. Ham, £!). It was resolved to accept the tender ; and Mr Fisher reir.iitud that he had arranged with Mr Dunn wiio resided near the spot, to s'je that tho work was properly carried out, for which he was to be paid' 10s. Mr Fisher's action was approved of. Lor 17.—Two tsndeis wore received for the grazing of section 17, for 12 months from the 10th instant, viz., Neil Johns in i! 7 15s, and W. Bartlett £11. Tile latter Wiis accepted.

Defaulting Lkssebs.—The cliairman Slid warrants had been received from the Governor authorising the bailiff of the It. M. Court to distrain upon all who were two quarters in arreas with their rents. He was glad to say all but three or four had paid, and it was for them—the Board—to decide when they should distrain; he thought if they gave one week it would be ample, as the press had notified that the warrants had arrived and the lessees must be aware of the fact. Mr Hewitt thought a week was too little in these hard times ; ho believed if the people had tho money they would pay it at once. The cliairman pointed out that in ten days another quarter would have expired and more rent would be duo. Ho did not think they would be justified, as guardians of the public money, in granting more time ; in fact they had again and again lost public money by granting an extension of time, and if they did not tike action now that they had tho warrants, people would think that it was all a sham, and would pay the rents just when they thought proper. Mr Hewitt said the present was a bad time to make an example of the defaulters. One nian on tho list ho knew had not yet sold his wheat. Mr Fisher said Mr Hewitt was very anxious to conserve the public money when the Board wanted to give, a little c\tra to a contractor at one of tho late meetings, but he did not appear as anxious now. The chairman moved that the clerk be in.-fcructed to sand the warrants on to tho bailiff for execution on the Oth instant,.and that he notify the defaulting lessees that such will be don?, unless Hie arreas are paid in the meantime. Seconded by Mr Fisher and carried. FiXANOH. —The arrears of rent at date are €31 and the bank overdraft £00. It was decided to meet in future at i'p.m., instead of 3 p.m. as has been tho usual custom.
