A N'e of farmers held at J'.\kekoho passed a resolution in favour of tin) Trade Marks Bill to protect farmer* from spurious itianuiial compound*. It was also resolved tn form a Farmer's Club and a large number joined. A cable message received to-day from Brisbane states that the Vtickkuid built schooner Sovereign, bound from Auckland to Brisbane has gone ashore, near Brisbane. She was lightened to enable her to be lloated olf. No further particulars are given. The Sovereign was a schooner (if ,S5 tons, lit]ilt at Auckland in ISSO. She left here July Ist. for Brisbane with a cargo of oats, and was probably eh se to her destination when she went asho'-e,
