(r,Y TULEORArit—OWN* CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, Monday. A meeting of country members is being held to-night to draw up a manifesto, setting forth their views and reasons for their demands. This manifesto was drawn up earlier in the evening by some of the members, but on being shown to the rest of the party, all sorts of objections were taken to it, and the general opinion was that as a party manifesto it was much too longwinde.l and discursive dragging in such questions as Liberalism, Democracy, and other theoretical considerations allecting (lie present Dill. The party generally desired to put forth a plain matter of fact exposition of their ideas free from all "gush" or political talltalk ; accordingly the draft manifesto was cancelled, and the committee set to work on a new one. This will not be finished till late to-night, and will be presented to the party tomorrow for discussion. 1 understand the Premier has requested, as a matter of common courtesy, that the manifesto shall not be made public or communicated to the press representatives until it has been submitted to the Government and discussed by them, which has been agreed to by the members of the country party. _________
