MEKSIISA. BL'CKLAND AND SOXB' WBKKLT RfI'OKT.—At the Hayinarket during the past week hay and oaten sheaves havo ranged from 2s !)d to 3s 3d the cwt, the greater portion being .it the higher value. Oats and maize have arrived m greater quantities than usual, and prices have receded slightly; sold in wholesale prices maize has ranged from 2s 7d to £ lid. Oats, 2s 10(1 to 3s the bushel ; chaff, £4 us the ton. On Tuesday, heavy hides, in less number than for several weeks, sustained a further tall in values of near Jd the lb, prices ranged from 3.} d to 3Jd, or trom ISs to 22s each ; light ox and cow hides were it lato values \ tallow, 15s and 15-3 0d the cwt; sheepskins, pitched in full numbers were better worth *> the greater part brought from 4s to 5s 7d each. On Friday horse stock were yarded in less numbers than usual ; active draught brought from £8 to £14 ; riding horses, from £1 to £7 10s. A aide saddle, £2 10s; bn«ry, £-1, cart, £;> ]ss, were among the sundries sold. At Remuera on Thursday dairy were dull of sale ; prices ranged from 50s to 70s ; store cattle, in better enquiry at a filight advance in value ; fat cattle, abundant, were at, lower prices ; Auckland fatted were at 15s; ship borne, 13s to 14s the 1001b for steers of good quality ; fat calves, in moderate numbers, kept last weeks values j sheep were lower m price from Is to 2s each, the fall in price was principally in the best quality, medium fatted sheep kept their value ; a young boar brought £3 ss, and pigs generally sold well. Alkssks Humter and Nolan's Weekly Report.—Horse feed, seeds, grain: There has been considerable animation, and rather largo quantities of oats have changed hands. We quote : Feed oats, from 2s !)d to 3s 3d per bushel ; maize, 2s lid to 3s 2d per bushel; bran, £5 10s to £0 per ton. Horses : An average number were brought forward, and found purchasers at the previous week's values. There was a goodly muster at the Durham Yards on Friday. The demand was steady, and inost of the lots were cleared at the previous week s values. We quote : Hacks, at from £1 15s to £11. 10a ; light harness horses, £5 liss to £1210-f. Wool, hides, skins, &c. : about the usual quantities were pitched at the Durham Yards on Friday, and bidding was brisk. We quote: o\* hide>, 2Jrd to 4d per lb ; cow, lAd to 2.W ; calfskins, 3ld to 4'rd per lb ; sheepskins, 2.sod toosGdoach; tallow, lis (id to 10s (id per cwt. Cattle : There has been an adequate supply and steady demand, without alteration in values, in dairy or stock, l'at oxen were hardly worth so much as on the previous week. There was a good muster of fat beasts at the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday, and steady competition throughout the'sale. Top 'sorts were a shado lower, and prices varied considerably. Some averages were: —Steers, £7, £GBs od, £lj 7s, £5 10*, £('. lis. £•"» Is, £4 10s. Cows :£4 15s, £4 7s Gd, £G 15s. £3 ss. Sheep : There was rather a short muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, and there remained an unsatisfied demand. Wethers s4d at from 14s 3d to 17s 0.1 ; ewes. 13s !>i tu 15s Gd. l.'igs: But few yarded. There icmained an unsatisfied demand for good dairy-fed at from 2M to 3.[d per lb live weight.
