| BY TELEGRAPH.—I'BESS ASSOCrATIOX. I INVKRCARGILL, Friday. A. Darlixg's fellmongery was destroyed by lire early this morning. The building was insured for £140 in the New Zealand, and contents, £2.")0 in the Snath British. The loss is £1200 above the insurance. The fellmongery was burnt 12 mouths ago, and lirul not lonsj been rebuilt. DUNKDIN, Friday.

It is understood the Exhibition Commissioners have übaudoued the present application to the Licensing Committee. Captain Bell of the hrigantius Enterprise, reports the loss of Alfred Julier, A. 15., on 10th July when 50 miles southward of Bank's Peninsula. He had beeu employed the inn rigging and was seen by the captain to cross from the starboard to port rigging with the intention of coming to the deck. The captain at the same time was easing off the main sheet and he did not notice Julier fall from the port rigging, uor did the man working with him. After the boom was hauled taut they noticed Julier in the water fifty yards away and preparations were made for his rescue but a heavy squall coming ou the captain thought it imprudent to risk other lives. The deceased was IS years of age and soil of Mr Julier of Port Chalmers.
