In the discussion in the House of Commons on grants to the lioyal Family, Mr Gladstone, in an eloquent speech, combatted the arguments of Mr Labouchere. He severely condemned the shabby attacks made on the civil list, and repudiated a microscopic inspection of the Queen's house hold expenses. A splendid court in a society like England was, he contended, a necessity. ___________
