(liY TELEGRAPH. —PUKSS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Friday. Twenty • five additional petitions with reference to Gheinis have been received. These make a total of SO received, with 6,-170 names. One hundred and twenty lists have yet to be returned, and it is fully estimated that 1:2,000 signatures will be received. Colonel Hume, in company with Detective Carby, were engaged this morning in making searching enquiries in Kaiwarra and tlie surrounding district with reference to the statements made as to the condemned man's innocence. This afternoon they were continuing their investigations in town. Thh result of the enquiries made will not be made public till after they have been considered by the Government.
