On H.ituulay, at Hamilton, tho auction sale at t:m residence of Mr Howard Jackson, ruprescntatives from every township in Wail.ato were present; tho following prices were realised '.:— Toilet-ware, 20s ; w.ishstands, His ; sprint' wire irattresses, 30s; bedsteads, 30s and 37s Bd; waidrobe, •10s ; easy chairs, 21s to 2(h ; armchairs, -15s and 30s ; music cabiuet, 38? ; fender and irons. 17s ; linoleum, tiOs ; table, 25s ; chest drawers, b'ss ; dining table, 75s ; secetary mid shelves, 110s; sewing machine, 70s; side-boards, 40s ; dressing glasses, 10n to 20s ; portable boiler, 47s (id ; saddles, 24s and -15*. On account, of the Domain Board Lots li) and 12 known as Bradloy's paddocks fetched 13s per acre for 7 years lease ; Lots 104 and 105, Borough endowments containing 12 acres, Gs per acre. The fencing was withdrawn from sale.

Aitken's Makkkt Kwout fur tho week ending July 20.—There has been u good demand for must kinds of produce, iuid large quantities have been quitted at satisfactory prices. I'otalow continue very plentiful ; values are unchanged, drain of nil kinds unchanged. Onions very scarce, aid sold at high prices. Flour easier in v hie. Bacon and hams in good supply. Cheese, ordinary kin 's plentiful, loaf sizes very scarce. ; no change iu valuo. Honey, dull. Kggs have been more plentiful; prices were higher. Butter, fresh, in shorter s ipply, values higher ; in corned butter a fair business has been done, but tliß market is far overstocked with inferior lots. Pigs, g iod simply : all those of fair breeding sold well. Ribbits, scarce. A few hares sold at fair values. Apples in fair supply; prices still further advanced. Tears, only cooking kinds received ; values unchanged. Ljinons are scarce. A consignment of Bydney oranges to hand in primocondition ; for these prices were not high.
