Ot'E Wellington correspondent informs us that during the course of an interview with Mr Marchant yesterday Mr McKerrow, Chief Commissioner of Railways, informed the member for Taranaki that the Commissioners are now negotiating with the Agent-General over the subject of making better provision for the cool transit of butter, etc., by rail. The Agent General had sent out a prospectus of ammouiaii refrigeratingcars ui.uinfnntiired by Messrs Cameron and Co , of New York, who are erecting new works, and are consequently not in a position to execute orders ; but the Coinniissionur? will probably order several of those cars for the purpose named.
