LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.

(by telegraph.—own correspondent.) Auckland, Friday. Tin-: meeting of Loyalists this afternoon adopted resolutions adverse, to the mission of the Irish delegates. Mr Burst, iw, the chairman, ruled that none but opponents of Home .Hole could speak at the meeting. It was decided to call a public meeting on the subject. At the Board of Education to-day, the Inspectors, having been asked Lo report on teaching temperance and laws of health, stated they considered the resolution of the Board on these subjects should bo rescinded, and that the departmental regulations on the subject of elementary science should not be changed in country sclu ols. They considered that agricultural science should have a greater place, and the attention of teachers should be drawn to that subject. The matter was deferred for a week. Regarding the protest from the Educational Institute re the removal of teachers, the chairman explained that the Board,* action in gradually making a readjustment was favourable to teachers. The letter was ordered to bo received. The report on pupil teachers' examination showed that sixtv-six pissed out of one hundred and four examined.
