OUR FENCING.
TO THE EDITOR. g nl _I would call attention to the fact that the'sale of the fencing, at any rate on the East side of the river, by the Hamilton Domain Board, is utterly illegal. J.his fencing does not belong to the Domain Board at all, but to the Borough Council, becausc, as a matter of fact, not one bingle aero ef Domain Land is included m the area fenced 111. All the land is borough Endowment and private property; therefore the fence, although it may have been nut up with Domain Board money, (borrowed from the Borough Council) most certainly belongs, not to the Board, but to the Borough Council, and cannot be removed except by permission of the latter body. To remove this fencing, which cost the burgesses about £100. and I :or which, probably, only some £35 or £-10, at the outside, would be obtained, seems so absurd that it is hardly creditable that six or seven men. wiMi any sense, could be found 111 our midst to vote for it—l am, Sir, yours, kc., I'IIOOKESS.
