|BY TBLKOKAriI.— PKKSS ASSOCIATION'.! WEDNESDAY. Tlirc Legislative Council met at 2 30. The Marriage Act Amendment Bill was recommended to a committee. The Wellington-Manawatu Hail way Company's Drainago Empowering Bill was passed. The adjourned debate on the second reading of the Legislative Council Bill was continued by Hon. Mr Oliver, who spoke strongly against it. Hon. Messrs lleynolds, Pharazyn, and Barnieoat supported the Bill.and Dr. Pollen moved an amendment that, the Bill be read a second time that day six months. Hon. Messrs Wilson and Walker spoke against the Bill. Hon. Mr .Shepherd moved the adjournment of the debate, and the Council rose at 5 o'clock till to-morrow.
