Powell, marched the streets at noon to-day, carrying a banner bearing a skull and cross bones, with the motto " Work or Pood." At a subsequent meeting I*o well said the men were in a desperate condition for want of food, and determined not to apply for charitable aid, but insisted on work beini; provided for the men, while he asked the public to contribute towards their maintenance. An o\l man. naovd Wdliam Dtundell, DO, was found dro.vne 1 in the river Avon, near the police st it ion, this morning. Deceased had previously announced his intention of .committing suicide. WELLINGTON, Friday. All the cases of tlio criminal session, e.\c 'pt the trial of Louis Chemis, for the Kaiwarra murder, are now finished.
