THE ACCIDENT AT THE TUNNEL
TO THE EDITOR. Slli, —I sbc that there is another accident at the I'oro-o-torau Tunnel. I think that someone will enquire who is to blame for this one. When the last man was killed there was a man sent from the South Island, an experienced man, but as everything was going on all right, I suppose his pay was too much, as he was sent away about nine days before this accident. As he was going away he said to a great many that there would bo someone killed in a short time if they carried on as they were. I think that his opinion should be had on the matter ; it is all very well to hold an inquest 011 the work, and to have the men that are making their living there to sit on tlie jury, but there should be an enquiry, as there is no experienced man on the work.—l am, etc., Eaiu Play.
