HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

— - A si'kcial meeting of the above Council was held in the Council Chambers, Hamilton, on Tuesday evening, to consider a letter from the Waikato District. Hospital and Charitable Airt Board, requesting toe Council to discuss and report upon the propused new legislation in respect to hospitals and charitable aid. There were present : The Mayor (Mr I. Coat.es), Crs. Wood, Tippen, Salmon, von Stunner, Ball, Jones and Lees.— Cr. von Stunner moved and the Mayor seconded a motion strongly protesting against the Bill or any disturbance of the existing system in the Waikato.—Cr. Salmon moved and Cr. Jones seconded an amendment to the effect that the Council take no action in the matter, which was carried, the voting being:—For: Crs. Tippen, Salmon, Wood, Davey, Jones and Lees. Against: ihe Mayor, Crs. von Stunner and Bell.
