' School Mattkhk.— The Board of Education have agreed to purchase the school site and school-house at Owharoa at prexjnt in private hands, and have also agreed to erect a school at Karangahake, closing the school at Mack'ay town, • n township once thickly populated but now almost deserted. A school-house is likely to be erected at Rangiora, a small settlement on the WaiiiiMi rivr-r. The suhool building at Waihi,

now boiuj; erected by public subscription, is approaching completion. Arrangements are to bo made whereby the Board of Kdiiciitiim will subsidise a competent teaolicr.
