TE KUITI.
A. 'Hoy Missini;. -A boy in tlio employment of .Ur Tanner at Te Kuiti, has been missing since Wednesday last. It appears he was sent on horseback to look fur the cows which were, it is said, across the Mangaokowa river, which runs through Te Kuiti ; the hois i returned or was found, but the lad has not been seen or heard of since. It is feaied he has been drowned in trying to cross the river which is swollen troin the late heavy rains. Si.ip.s ON thk Link. —Several slips have occurred on the Waiteli Section, and men art) constantly employed clearing them. Some cf the slips instead of falling on tlio line were forced under it, twisting and bi caking the rails and raising the line. These are worse to clear than those which fall on the surface. Thoreis a stratum of ferruginous clay underlying the surface all along the face of that hill, of a very slippery nature, and wherever it is cut through slips occur, necessitating the cutting away back from the line of enormo quantities of earth.
