The. Waikato Times Office, Friday. WATKATO L[ VE STOCK MARKETS. Mit W. J. Huntkk Retorts At Ohaupi on Tuesday last, although a very wet day. the yards were well tilled with both catth and sheep. The former were principal!) well-bred young cattle, tor which there was keen competition, and every lot sold. Dairj cnvs were slightly lower in price, but nearlj all were disposed of at auction. There i; an unsatisfied demand for good grazing bul locks and fresh cows, and I can place i large number at my next sale on July 9th The beef cattle yarded were eaperly com poted for, and, with the exception of tiv< head, all sold at fully 5a to 10s per hcac higher than previous sales. The sheet yarded were principally owes in lamb, anc all sold. Or Friday horse stock were dull of sale. Un broken colts, medium strength, brough from £7 to £!>; quiet working horses up t< £10 15a; a Yankee waggon, £40; sprinj cart, £7 17s Gd ; harness, from 35a to £G th< set. On Tuesday a full market of hide: and skin 3 sold satisfactorily. Good _o> hides, l]d to 5d ; cow hides, 2J,d ; calfskins 2yd to 4sd the lb ; sheepskins", 2s to 4a 5c each ; bones, 4s fid; tallow, 14s (id to 1G: tho cwt. The wet weather prevented thi usual numbers of cattle from being brought to tho markets held at Fukekohe and Fapa kura. Dairy cows wore dull of sale, anc several were withdrawn ; other classes o cattle woro sold at late values. A Kemuera on Thursday, during the auction it rained heavily, and affected the attend ance. Dairy cows, plentiful, brought fron £3 to £5 10a each. The steers advertisec were withdrawn, there being no bidding foi them, and store cattle generally were dul of sale. Fat calves were at extreme values, Fat cattle, consequent on an unexpected arrival of a shipment, in full numbers. Al first prices ranged from 15a to lGs the 10( lbs, but fell as the sale proceeded, and oc casioned the withdrawal of a few pens when prices again rallied. Sheep were ir usual supply, and firm at last week a values, An unusual draft of heavy-weight ivethers averaged 17s Gd, but tho general prices foi wethers were from 12s to 13s !)d ; ewes, 0; to 13s ; lambs, 8a each. Pigs were numer ous and kept their values, choice bacon pigs bringing from £1 17s Gd to £2 2s Gd porkers, trom ISa to 2Gs each.

Messrs Huntkr and Nolan's Wkkkly lluroitT.—Horsefeed, grain, seeds : There has been more activity in the market. The supply has been good, and the demand brisk, with a little upward tendency in value. We quote: Fetid oats, 3s 3d to 3a Cd per bushel; maize, 3s 3d : bran, £5 10s to £6 per ton ; oaten chaff, £3 to £4 per ton. No sales of seeds effected. Horses : A good many have been brought forward, but as a rule the stamp was not good enough, and purchasers were not eager at the previous week's values. Rather a large number were submitted by auction at the Durham yards on Friday ; competition was fitful, but most of the lots were disposed of at the previous week's values. Wo quote : Hack?, at from £6 to£lo 10s ; light harness arid medium draught, from £,"> 5s to £1210s. Wool, hides, and skins : Again an unusually large number of hides were pitched, for which there was brisk competition. Skins were :in average supply. We quota: Ox hides, from 3d to 5d per lb ; cow, 2}d to 3d ; green ox, 27s to 31s each ; calfskins, •Id to 3d per lb ; sheepskins, 2s Id to 5s 4d ; tallow, 14s lid to 15s (id per cwt; lambswool, 7VI per lb ; longwool, 6?, to ; locks and pieces, 2A to sjjd per lb. Cattle ; The supply of dairy stock has been ample, more fat beasts would have found ready purchasers, and but few stores changed hands, and there was little alteration in value of fut stock, and dairy cows at their profit were at the previous week's values. There was a fair muster at Newmarket on Tuesday and steady competition throughout, but little or no alteration in value was made as compared with the previous week. 1 laity cows sold at from £4 to £7. Beef ranged from 13s to 17s per 100 lb. Some averages were : Steers, £5 7s (id, £5 12s Gd, £0 2s (id. £0 4s, £G 7s fid, £fi 17s Gd ; cows £3, £3 10s, £4, £4 ss, £4 12s Gd, £5 12s Gd. Sheep were well represented at Newmarket on Tuesday and sold readily; wethers at from 12s !)d to 15s Gd ; ewes, !)s to 13s ; mixed, lis 6d to 14s Gd. Pig*: Rough were badly competed for and sold at low prices; wpll-bred were in fair demand at from 2d to per lb live weight.

The present stock ill hand is 5000 carcases of mutton. LONDON WOOL MARKET. London, June !W.—The wool market is very firm, especially in fine merinos and cross-breds. Fine medium greasy crossbreds have advanced Id per lb. Tho Americans are purchasing freely.
