(lIY TIiLKUUAI'U.—I'HIiSS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Monday. John Eixjak, a child nearly two years of ago, was burnt to death yesterday at Abbotsford. WELLINGTON, Monday. John W. Crabtree, a convict who gained some notoriety by his prison-breaking exploits some two years ago, and who was transferred to Mount Eden Gaol, Auckland, is about to be released, His Excellency the Governor haviug remitted the remainder of his sentence. A short time ago Crabtree's mind gave way, anil he was confined in the Avondalc Asylum. He will be handed over to the care of his parents, who reside in Auckland, and purpose taking him out of the colony.
