Maize, in trade parcels on the wharf, brought 3-i Id and 3s 2d the bushel ; oats, at tho store, 3s the. hu-hel. On "Friday, horses were in usual number. Aged, ill-eondiUoi:ed ( and inferior horses wore at less value, hut useful animals, m condition, kept their values, Trices for useful horses ringed from £7 to t!1.5; inferior, from 20s to ■10s. A saddle anil bridle brought £2; buggy harness, L'-l 17s (id ; spring carts, ft) 10s and lll.'l ; horse, cart, and harness, €22 respectively. On Tuesday, hides were pitched in much larger number than usual. Skins were also well represented. Prices for all classes were well sustained. Above 800 hides \v:re sold at the following prices : —Ox hides, weighing from 50 to (iOlbs., 3.'id to -l|d; from (JO to 701b5., -Id to -1 7-Hid ; from 70 to SOlbs., -t.'.d to 1 13-Kid ; DO to 1001b.*., the lb., or from 23s to 30s each ; green ox jides, from 22s (id to 25s lid each ; cow hides, 2M and the lb. ; green cow hides, 12s 3d each ; tallow, lis !)d to 15s lid ; bones, Is Od the cwt; butchers' sheep skins, 3s to "s each ; station skins Is to Is each. B> private sale, Mrs Hodge's farm, at Wainku, was sold for tiViO. At the country cattle sales, hold respectively at Pokeno and I hairy, cattle were brought forward in the usual number. Dairy cwws at lower values. Other kinds of stock maintainoJ their price ; the 1 on ;'-»■ jolled ewes brought 10s each. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows were yarded plentifully. Prices lower, and many remained unsold. Those sold realised from ,fc2 15* to Wi 2s -Id each. Store cattle at late values. Dry cows from 25s to 10s; tliren-year steers, t'2 12s ; yearling heifers, 20s each. Veal calves (short of requirements) obtained the high values ruling last week. Fat cattle in usual supply. Steers ranged from Kis to 17s ; cows, lis to 15s the 1001b. Sheep, in short supply, advanced in value from Is to 2s each. Fat lambs shared in the advanced price. Pigs abundant, mostly of large size, and being required better prices were obtained than for a month past.
