A NARROW ESCAPE.

(iiY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Gisborne, Friday, John Rosie, an employee at the Gisborne brewery, was engaged cleaning a vat of yeast last evening when he was over-powered by fumes of carbonic acid gas, and fell insensible to the bottom of the vat. Fortunately, the plug admitted a certain amount of fresh air, and Rosie lay insensible, but alive, for several hours. At midnight he was discovered by David Barry, another employee, who bravely plunged into the noxious air and rescued Rosie, who was very near dead.
