Auckland, Friday. The City North Licensing Court have finally decided to close the Wharf and Clanricade Hotels.
At a meeting of T. Leigh While's creditors, the Assignee stated information received showed that White was now in Sydney, and the question was whether it was worth while bringing him back. The meeting carried a resolution that the creditors do not incur the expense, and the Assignee was instructed to realise the estate.
Morrow, charged with embezzling funds from the Arch Hill Road Board was remanded to Wednesday next. The Government audit shews £200 unaccounted for.
A German named Herman Obee attempted suicide by taking laudanum and was removed to the hospital.
Last Sunday the body uf John Tuokle, late of the Ketch Zillah, wrecked on the Great Barrier Island, was found.
