"PATRIOT" IN REPLY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—" Harapipi "is in the position of a man having no case, so he abuses the other side. Declamation is not argument. It is better to be a parrot of well-known and admittedly able men, than to be original after " Harapipi's " style. If he draws hi.s inspiration from his own brains, well, to draw it mild in agricultural parlance—they require a lot of fertilizers. If his ideas are in accordance with his immediate surroundings, we need not wonder at his jerky, abrupt and foggy style of writing. If he is going to be a burning and shining light to expose the wrong-doing of selfseekers, such as myself, he will need to turn over a neiv leaf. lie is behind the times in which we live. In iny last letter I asked him a few plain questions; he shirks thom altogether, and runs off into a tirade of abuse. t shall, therefore, pass over his last, letter without further comment until he answers my questions.—-Yours, &e. t Patiuot.
