Tiie trawling expedition, instituted by the Government, has revealed extensive fishing grounds along the coast, which are said to be of great value. June 14. Colonel Bruco-Tullacli has been appointed commandant of the Victorian forces. Hobart, June 13. The Tasmanian Government has been recommended to reduce the quarantine on New Zealand cattle to 30 days. Sydney, June 13. The revenue for the first five months of the present year show a surplus of £40,000. June 14. The Hon. J. White, the well-known sporting man, has bred two more batches of horses to Knglish time (the latter being six months ahead of colonial lime) with a view to contesting the classic events in England in 1891 and 1592. The '91 draft consists of a full brother to Dreadnought and a full sister to Singapore ; the '02 hatch are full brothers to Marellan and a half brother to Kirkham by Martini Henri.
