NEWCASTLE ROAD BOARD
The ordinary meeting of the Newcastle Road Board was held on Thursday, 13th iust., at 2 p.m. Present: Messrs Corboy (chairman), Corbett, Foxall, McKnight, and Bycrott, Minutes of the special meeting were, read and confirmed, and the correspondence received and sent was read. Mil LiMJiKii's Coxtkact, —It was mutually agreed to leave the matter to arbitration. Mr Li miner named Mr W. Harris as his arbitrator, tho Board appointing Mr J. Grix as theirs. The question to bo .submitted to the arbitrators is to decide as to the quantity of the work done, and the amount to be paid for the) same. Tho chairman was authorised to draft out directions for the guidance of the arbitrators to adjudicate on this matter. Mr Limmer having refused to finish the work on Corbett's road, which was included in tho specification, Mr Bycroft was authorised to arrange far the completion of this work, the cost to be schedule rates. Phojected Works.—lt was resolvod that specifications be made out by the chairman, if practicable, by the next meeting of tho Board for the following works viz:—Shephard's road, continuation of Moore's road to Salmon's hill, road back nf Crawford's, Trethaway's road, McCredie'a road, Bycroft's road, and Rothwell's culvert, old Whatawhata road. A small account was passed for payment, and tho Board rose.
