The Waikato Times Office, Monday. AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKETS. Mil A lux. Aitken's Mahkbt Rki-out for the week ending June Bth : There has been ik good demand for nil kinds of produce, consequently most supplies have been quitted. In the poultry department all pens were filled cm Friday; prices were slightly easier. Pigs: Fifty-three were entered, many too small and several inferior lots ; for these, prices wore low ; choice lots sold at previous values. Potatoes are in Rood demand ; but few unsold. _ Values are firmer at late quotations. Onions are in active demand ; only second-class coming forward, Vegetables sold at Rood values. Grain of all kinds has sold freely at late quotations. Oata are wanted at improved values. Fresh butter in large supply, many second-class lots. Values are unchanged. Eggs have also sold readily at late quotations ; a Rood quantity received. Honey moves slowly. Several tons have come to hand from Wnikato, but sellers ask more than buyers arc willing to give. In corned butter theie is but little doing; some farmers are making it up; this has the olfeot of checking an advance in either kind. Hams and bacon are coming in freely; that of good get-np sells at good prices, but roughly handled or poorly cut lots are out of demand. Fruit: The supply of apples has been considerably larger, and the recent damp weather has been the means of some lots arriving in poor condition. The New Zk.u.axh Loan axu MercanTll.K AciKXi'Y Rei'OKT, under date Melbourne, 2:2 nd Mny :—Grain : Wheat is again stronger, and more disposition shown (ill the part of millers to purchase. If the statistics are correct, the Australian colonies, as a whole, have to import this year over 50,000 tons of wheat, ns the figures i-Uiiw that the surplus of Now Zoaland, Victoria, and South Australia arc more than ab-orbed by the deficiency in New South Wales and <,Jiicensland. Figures, Imwover, arc often disappointing, as results do nut bear them out, but in this instance, if approximately correct, a scarcity should be felt in August. Mennwhilo the Reaper has arrived at Sydney from San Francisco with a cargo of wheat, and the Bothwoll Castle with ii shipment of Indian wheat is off th« coast. The hitter is a fine sample, but Australian millers not having nt their command the cleansing apparatus used in England are dubious of buying it. The weather reports are favourable throughout the colonies to the growing crops, whilst the same may bis said nf prospects in Europe and Au.rrica. Shou'.d all these eventuate in good harvests, wheat promises In !«■ cheap in 18'. 10 unless political events criMt.! a iinirkHt.—Wheat : M:irl;et brisker, and more inquiry from the. trade.
