Oaten sheaves ranged from os (id to -Is ; meadow hay, >'is fid to 3s 9d pe.r cwt ; straw, 12s to lbs per load ; oats, 2s 11 to 3s 4 ; wheat, 3s ; maize, 3s Id per bushel. At the horse sale on Friday, Rood working horses in condition were better worth, and ranged in price from .fell to €22; light harness horses, £7 to £10, but horses in low condition at nominal values ; a Courtland waggon, £22 ; buggy, £21 ; spring cart, £11 ; sets of harness, from 35s to 85s tho set, were also sold. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, prices were fully sustained. Ox hides brought from 13s to 2Ss fid each ; cow hides, up to 17s (id each ; calfskins, 4,'r per lb ; tallow, 1.5s to 15s (id per cwt ; woolled sheepskins, from 2s (id to 4s 3d oach. At the Waiuku monthly cattle sale a small uiuster of stock met a failinquiry at late values, the rough weather preventing the usual attendance. At the special sale held at Papakura Valley, there was a very largo attendance, and good prices throughout. Horses brought from £7 10s to £9 15s ; spring carts, £11 2s fld to £14 10s respectively, At Reinuera on Thursday, dairy cows at their profit brought from £5 os to £8 5s each ; dry cows, 35s to 40s ; fat cattle, in average supply, were slightly better worth, l(is per lOOlbs, was tho ruling price for steers ; sheep were also firm ; wethers, from Us (id to Us ; ewes, 8s to 12s each ; shorn lambs. 7s (id to 10s oach ; calves and pigs in short supply, sold at full values.

Dairy cows wero well represented at both sales, and there was a fair muster of beef. Competition was keen for dairy and fat beasts, and there was an advance on the previous week's values of 10s per head on best animals. Dairy cows sold at from £4 10s to £s 12s lid. Some averages of fat steers were £4 17 (id, £5 !)s, £5 12 fid, £5 15s, £5 10, £7 ; cows £'2 15s, t'3 17s (id, £I, £1 ss. Sheep : The Newmarket pens were fairly filled on Tuesday with fat shee;>, and the stores yarded were purchased for slaughter. Pigs in average supply, but prices wore in favour of purchasers, ranging from 2d to 3d per lb live weight.
