HAMILTON ROAD BOARD

The monthly meeting of the Board was held on Saturday last, at 1 p.m. ; a full Board was present, Mr William Jones being chairman. The minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed. CoiU'. KNC'K. — Letter from tho auditor returning the annual balance-sheet duly certified.—Letter from Colonial Secretary, ad rising that the result of elections had been duly gazetted May Kith.— Letter from Mr Alexander Allan, of Te it»pa, re erection of boundary fence on the Te Rapa Station Road.— Letter from Mr 1\ O'Brien applying for formation of road to his laud at l'ukete. Tj.yki> in' Deeai: lt to it Rates.—lt was rosolve:-! that, the necessary steps be taken to sell for rates, in accordance with the Rating Act, 1882. tho following sections:— SectioTi 80, Pukete ; section Bl>, Pukete ; section IDS, Te Rapa ; section 88, Te Rapa. Works Dr feurep.—lt was resolved that the works mentioned in Messrs O'Brien's and Allan's letter be held over until the spring. Rate Struck.—lt was resolved that a n 'tice bo inserted in The Waikato Times, notifying that it is the intention of the Board at its next mei-ting, to bo held on Saturday, July oth, 1&S!I, to make a general rate of Ul in the pound on the ratable value nf all ratable property in the Hamilton Road District, for the period ending March 31st, IS',lO, payable in one sum at the office of the collector, The Waikato Times buildings, Hamilton, on tho first day of August, 188!). Culvert.—lt was resolved that permission be granted to Mr Exelby to mako a culvert across the road at Section 411, Stokes' Bush Road. Special Meeting.—lt was resolved that a special meeting be held on Saturday next. June Bth, to receive Messrs Maunder and .Tones' resport on the work at Stokes Bush drain. Accounts.—The following accounts were passed for payment-: —Clerk s salary, £5 j collector's commission, £2 Ills 7d; office rent, £L ss; H. Rogers, £l>; total, £15 is 7d.
