MR MITCHELSON IN THE KING COUNTRY.
Mn Mitujiki.sox, the Native Minister, met with a cordial welcome from the natives at Otnrohanga, on Monday. <V larpre number of presents were handed to him for presentation Lo Lord Onslow as evidence of the loyalty of the Maoris. The M.iraeroa grievance was the chief subject introduced by Taomii. Mr Mitchelsun said, the Chief .ludge having refused a re-heariiiß\ Parliament would hardly be favourable to it. Ijot, he promised to obtain a special Commission to inquire into the whole facts of the case,and if it was found they were entitled to a ro hearing, one would be granted. The chiefs expressed themselves satisfied with this arrangement. Tho Minister thinks this will now remove the difficulty in the way of settlement, and will forthwith proceed to take action towards purchasing blocks of land from the natives.
