MEETING OF RATEPAYERS.

Tlie following gentlemen having been nominated, viz. : Messrs John Moon, Samuel Wilson, I iharlcs Moon, Samuel Picken and William (!ibboson, were elected n.ernber.s of the Board for the ensuing year. The. following report of the past year's proceedings was then read. —In submitting a copy of tho annual balance-sheet, we regret to state that the sums of £10 15s (id and £5 7s 9,1, amounting together to £10 os 3d, have been deducted by the Treasury as duo to the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board and to other Boards. The item £5 7s !)d is under investigation, as the demand is believed to be erroneous, the Board not being indebted. This has materially diminished tho balance. On the 31st March, ISSB, the cash balance was £38 19s 3!, d, and on the 31st March, 1881), the cash balance was £33 0s 71d ; native rates due, £10 ISs 2d ; subsidy, £14 17s ll.Vd ; cash advances to bo refunded, £5 0s Gd; advertisements account paid,£l 11sGd; rates recoverable, £5 13s 9d ; amount duo by Karioi Koad Board, 4s ; total, £71 (is (id. Liabilities : Thi: Waikato Timk.s, £3 19s (id ; Weekly News, 12s (id ; expenses incurred, share of to Waipa County Council, £13 (id 9d ; roads through native lands, £10 18s 2d ; balance on McCleish's contract, £2 13s; totaj, £31 !)s lid. Loan Account : For loan with interest to date, £51S; amount paid for plana. £7 Ida ; total, £325 l(is. Assets Loan Account: Deposit duo united Boards, £350; paid to Raglan County Council, £150; three months' interest at 3 per cent., £2 12s (id ; total, £502 12s Gd. Tho balance of the £500 loan was placed at interest on deposit with the Union Bank of Australia, on which a sum of £10 10s has accrued at 3 per cent, on tho £350, the balance being left for wharf account, Kvery endeavour has boen made by the trustees to keep down working expenses. Your trustees have with pleasure to record tho formation of two miles of tho Waite-tuna-Huntly Koad by the Survey .Department. Also the contemplated re-erection of the bridge over the Waingarino creek by tlie Department. The trustees hope their successors will use every endeavour to continue to obtain from CSovernmunt grants for expenditure on the much needed road formation in the outlying districts of the Board. All- J". K. McDonald proposed, and Mr O. .Ninon seconded that the account ha passed and the report adopted, A vote of thanks was given to the outgoing trustees, and to tins Secretary of the hoard for ihe efficient manner in which he had conducted tho business of tho !V>ard. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded tho meeting.

Eoad Board Bleetin^. At the subsequent meeting of the trustees Messrs Wilson, Moon, (libbeson, Pickcn, and Moon. Mr S. Wilson was elected chairman tor the year. Various road works were considered, and tenders are to bo called for tho same.
