Annual Meeting.

Tho annual meeting of ratepayers was then held at the same place, Mr J. Gane chairman. Twenty-five ratepayers were present. The Chairman gavo a report of various works that had been done during the past year, and also an abstract of the receipts and expenditure during the past three years, and said their district roads were in fairly good repair. Although their income during the past year from all sources was only £39, and their expenditure £23'.i, the incoming trustees would have to their credit in the bank £330 odd.—lt was proposed by Mr J. Fisher and seconded, that a cordial vote of thanks be given to the outgoing trustees for tho very efficient manner in which they had discharged their duties, and leavinf, tho roads in such good order, and also what was very acceptable to tho ratepayers in not striking any rate during the past two years. Motion carried unanimously. The Secretary road a ctatomont of receipts and expenditure for tho past year. It was proposed and seconded that the statement of accounts as read be adopted, subject to the auditor's report. The triennial election of five members then took place, and a very lively interest was manifested in it. The candidates nominated were: Messrs James Anderson, Henry lCusabs, Edward Lake, •James Scott, Win. Vosper. (Messrs Gaue and Allen acted as scrutineers). On a ballot being taken, tho following was the result : James Anderson, 33 ; Henry Kusabs, 37 ; Edward Lake, 39; James Scott, ."4 ; W. Vosper, 3(i; Root. Watson, 7. The first five named were then declared tho duly elected members by Hugh Fitzgerald, returning officer. The first meeting of the new trustees was then held. Proposed by Mr J. Anderson, secondoi by IT. JCusabs, "That Mr Ed. Lake bo tho chairman." Carried.—Proposed and seconded "That Mr Hugh Fitzgerald bo re-elected clerk, treasurer, and collector." Carried—Proposed and seconded, "That the chairman and J. Anderson, in conjunction with tho treasurer, sign cheques."—Messrs Lake, Scott, and Kusabs were appointed to look after the roads on the west side of Walker's cully, and Messrs Anderson and Vosper f"r tho east side, the Board to meet at Cambridge on Saturday first, and at Ohaupo on Tuesday next, to see in what state the roads aie in. The next mating r.f the Board will be held at JL'ukenmu school un Monday, 30th Juno.
