The Chairman of the Board of Reviewers spoke in strong terms of the disgraceful conduct of some of the objectors who had not the slightest grounds for objecting ; and indeed in several instances the assessments were too low. He icgretted that the Board could not raise them, and also make those who raised frivolous objections pay the expenses. As instances, lie quoted Mr John Kennedy, of Paeroa, Ohinemuri, who objected to be assessed for Lot 190, Cambridge West, at £15, and yet when asked to sell demanded £20; »nd Mr Henderson, of Ngaruawahia, who objected to £15 for a section in the middle of the salevards at Ohaupo which was clearly worth £25.
